Spodi Recipe

2 Comments November 25

How to make SpodiAny party can be a hit if you have a keg of beer and some really good Spodi. Spodi is a great drink for all the girls at your party because they cannot taste the alcohol and because it tastes so good they drink a lot of it before they realize they are drunk.

Warning! – Spodis should not be consumed by minors, and should be consumed in moderation
FYI: Jungle Juice and Spodi’s are the same exact thing, the instructions to make them are identical. Since I already wrote up the directions for a Spodi Recipe below. If you want to make “Jungle Juice” the recipe is the same.

The key to a successful Spodi recipe is fresh fruit. Cheap liquor is fine, no one will notice anyway, but you must get fresh high quality fruit. The other key is use citrus based fruits, this helps cut the bite of the liquor if they can taste it (Note: I added cans to the fruit below in case the selected fruit is not in season).

The other rule of thumb to keep in mind when selecting the fruit, if you can envision a women eating the fruit naked and she looks good, then add it to the recipe. For example a girl eating a maraschino cherry and tying the stem in a knot is HOT. A girl picking out the seeds from a pomegranate is not sexy.

Spodi Recipe for 15 or fewer people

With ten or fewer people at the party, you want to keep the amount of Spodi manageable so that you don’t have a bunch left over. You want people to see the fruit in the bottom rather quickly. However, you want to make sure there is enough for everyone to have a few glasses.

  • 5 Gallon Bucket (New)
  • 2 Pints of Vodka
  • 1 Pint of Gin
  • 1 Pint of Rum
  • 1 Pint of Triple Sec
  • 3 Cans Hawaiian Punch
  • 3 Two Liters of Sprite
  • 3 Bags of Ice
  • 16oz Plastic Cups
  • 6-12 Tangerines (2 cans)
  • 5 Oranges
  • 1 Watermelon
  • 6 Peaches (2 cans)
  • 6 -12 Kiwis
  • 1-2 Pints of Strawberries
  • 1 Pineapple (2 cans)
  • 1-2 Pints of Blueberries
  • 2 Jars Maraschino Cherries

  1. Cut all your fruit into bit sized pieces, the exception is the watermelon, it floats if you leave the Rhine on so cut it like you would an ordinary watermelon so people can take pieces. Put all your fruit into the bucket, including the juices from any caned fruit.
  2. Then pour in your alcohol.
  3. Place bucket in a refrigerator, let marinate for at least 8 hours, but preferably 24 hours. If you don’t have room in the fridge for the bucket you can make this premix in a smaller container that will fit in the fridge. In a tight spot, I have used an empty vegetable bins for the marination process. Worse case scenario you can leave it out, the alcohol kills the germs, but it does not prevent fruit flies.
  4. After marination, about 20 minutes before the party add 2 bottles the sprite and 2 of Hawaiian punch. Move the bucket to where you want it to be for the party. It tends to be a gathering point, and can get very messy near it. I recommend outside or in the kitchen sink.
  5. Place the cups and a bucket of ice next to your Spodi
  6. Make sure you have a giant ladle or tongs next to the Spodi so people can pull out the fruit
  7. As the party moves forward, add the extra Hawaiian punch and sprite to keep the Spodi full as needed. Once people have the first few glasses it is better to slow them down a little anyway.

Remember, the Recipe for Spodi is a recipe for a good time, if you keep in mind that this drink will sneak up on you. The initial drink kicks in and then the fruit starts to digest and you get even drunker.

Spodi Recipe for a large party

With a large party, you want to make sure there is enough Spodi and fruit for everyone. Follow the recipe below for every 100 people at your party.

  • 1 Trash Can (New)
  • 2 Handles (or 2 Half Gallons) of Vodka
  • 1 Handle of Gin
  • 1 Handle of Rum
  • 1 750ML of Triple Sec
  • 6 Cans Hawaiian Punch
  • 6 Two Liters of Sprite
  • 6 Bags of Ice
  • 16oz Plastic Cups
  • 24 Tangerines (6 cans)
  • 15 Oranges
  • 3 Watermelon
  • 24 Peaches (6 cans)
  • 36 Kiwis
  • 6 Pints of Strawberries
  • 3 Pineapple (2 cans)
  • 6 Pints of Blueberries
  • 4 Jars Maraschino Cherries

The directions are the same as with a small group, except the marination process typically cannot occur in a refrigerator. In this case I usually cover the top of the container with Saran wrap.
