Trivia Question What is the Biblical meaning for the twelve days of Christmas

Biblical meaning for twelve days of Christmas

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me.

What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won’t come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas? Today, I found out.

From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning
plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

12 days of Christmas Meaning

The Partridge in a Pear Tree was Jesus Christ.

The Two Turtle Doves were the Old and New Testaments.

The Three French Hens stood for faith, hope and love.

The Four Calling Birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

The Five Golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.

The Six Geese a-Laying stood for the six days of creation.

The Seven Swans a-Swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit–Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

The Eight Maids a-Milking were the eight beatitudes.

The Nine Ladies Dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit–Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

The Ten Lords a-Leaping were the ten commandments.

The Eleven Pipers Piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

The Twelve Drummers Drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles’ Creed.

So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol…so pass it on if you wish. Merry (Twelve Days of) Christmas Everyone…..

Trivia: What does Nike mean? Nike does not stand for anything, simply Nike.

What does Nike Stand for?

<a href=http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&keywords=Nike&tag=na030c-20&index=shoes&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325' ref="nofollow" target="new">Nike does not stand for anything, although I am sure Nike would like you to think of the words like quality, affordable, top of the line, etc. Nike was originally known as Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS, Inc.) but in 1978 it was renamed to Nike, Inc.

I cannot imagine where the world would be today without Nike and there top of the line shoes.

That being said, their shoes do not really concern me, what does concern me is Tiger Woods. Had Nike not been around, Tiger would never have been able to amass his fortune the contact without the contact provided to him by Nike. He would then have had to use an inferior product like Adidas, which as we know does not make good golf clubs, which would then mean Tiger would never have been able to win all his majors, which would not have allowed him to make the bunker shot that rolled into the hole slowly showing the Nike swoosh at the end, which then was turned into an over used commercial to warm the hearts of Americans.

So really if you look at it, Americans owe a great deal to Nike, we should pay them over $100 per pay of shoe to repay our gratitude!

Trivia Question: How Fast does a Shark Swim?
Trivia Answer: The fastest recorded shark speed is 30mph

How Fast does a Shark Swim?

The other day I was out surfing…well…I mean I was thinking about surfing and wondered how fast can a shark swim? Truth be told I knew it was much faster than the average wave carrying a surfer but still an interesting question non the less.

The question of how fast does a shark swim depends on which type of shark, also speeds vary if they are going with or against the current. In general a large shark swims at around 1.5 miles per hour when cruising around. To date, the short-finned Mako is fastest recorded shark with a speed of 30mph. There are unconfirmed reports of other sharks reaching speeds of 60-70mph for short bursts.

Larry and Sergey started Google in January 1996, as a research project, the pair were Ph.D. students at Stanford University. Those crazy fellas thought there had to be a better way to rank results in search engines for a particular keyword besides counting the number of times the word appears on a page. Turns out they were right, their first search engine originally nicknamed “BackRub” (thought about putting in a comment here about two guys, systems named backrub…never mind to easy) because the system checked backlinks from other websites in order to decide which site was more important.

Without a doubt we all owe Page and Brin a great deal of thanks for being the founders of Google. Without the two founders the world would be a totally different place for which to search for porn.

Why does the Leaning Tower of Pisa Lean? So men will have to go and see it with their wives.

Fast Facts about the Leaning Tower of Pisa

Most men do not carry a strong desire to travel the world, it is not that it does not interest us. Sure we would live to travel the globe and see a rugby match in australia, or golf the hills of Ireland, but what we dont want to do is travel the world to see all the historic monuments. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of those things that you dont have to see to understand. It is a tall building that is sinking because some dumb ass built it on soil that could not support the weight. So why is it that our wives need to travel and see this building or similar structures from around the world? I will never know, but what I can do is provide you some fast facts on the tower that may keep you from having to visit it in person.

Why does the Leaning Tower of Pisa lean?

The Leaning Tower of Pisa leans because it was built on soil not prepared to handle the weight of the marble building.

Where is the Leaning Tower of Pisa located?

The Leaning Tower of Pisa was built it Italy in a town called Pisa, thus the name Leaning Tower of Pisa.

How tall is the Leaning Tower of Pisa?

This would be an easier question to answer if the tower did not lean. The height of the Leaning Tower of Pisa on the low side is 183ft, the height of the tower on the high side is 186ft.

How much is the Leaning Tower of Pisa leaning?

The tower leans at an angle of 3.97 degrees, which when translated over the couse of 183ft to the top; means that the top of the tower is 12 ft 10 in from where it would be if the tower was straight.

How much does the Leaning Tower of Pisa weigh?

The estimated wieght of the Leaning Tower of Pisa is over 16,000 tons.

How many steps in the Leaning Tower of Pisa?

Again, an easier question to answer if the Leaning Tower of Pisa was straight. The tower has two stairwells, one has 294 steps and the other has 296 steps.

What is Albert Einstein’s Middle Name?

Answer: Albert Einstein’s was not given a middle name by his parents?

Albert Einstein was a genius but whoever heard of not having a middle name? Albert’s parents must not have loved him enough to grant him a middle name. I prefer to think of his middle name as something more manly like “Theodore” but alas he has gone down in history without a middle name.

It is always fun to have a little Trivia Knowledge
