When made properly, it is sweet enough to drink comfortably, even for those who do not like the taste of alcohol. Here at I Hate Dr Oz would NEVER condone drinking in excess, but there are times that if she has a little too much to drink we can get a few things ‘done’. Some of you out there know what I mean . If you can get her to drink two of these ‘girl drinks’ then you can probably have your way with her. She’ll agree to let us go golfing in the morning, promise that Sunday you can watch football all day long and even let you go get that new fishing pole. Some guys will push the limits though, like attempting to pick up that 55” Plasma TV. We do not recommend this at all. Lemon Drop Martinis have their limits and even a discussion like that could sober her up instantly.

First off there are a couple of ways to make this drink. The simple way is using premade ingredients, adding booze and serve. That’s fine, but sometimes presentation goes a long way. Remember, we have our own agenda. Work the whole scene, and the chance of success goes up. Here’s what you will need:

What is in an Lemon Drop

This recipe is for groups, it will make 12 lemon drops

• 12 oz of Absolut Citron Vodka
• 2 Fresh Lemon
• 1 can Frozen Lemonade Concentrate
• 3/4 Cup of Granulated Sugar
• Mixing Pitcher
• 2 Cups of Water
• 4 Cups of Ice
• 12 Martini Glasses

Directions to make a Lemon Drop

1. Start off by cutting 1 of the lemons in half and squeezing/juicing this into the mixing container. Slice the remaining lemon into quarters, these will be used as the garnish in the martini glass.
2. Put the juice concentrate in the pitcher
3. Add ½ Cup of Sugar, save the remainder for the garnish
4. Add the water to the pitcher
5. Add the ice
6. Mix all ingredients together
7. Add the Vodka
8. Now shake/mix gently so you don’t bruise the vodka.
9. Once chilled, strain and serve.

Now this seems very involved, and it can be. Therefore, you need to make sure she watches you do the whole process. Remember, you are there for her, and tending to her. It’s all about her and making a wonderfully tasty drink for HER. If she has friends over and you are serving all of them, all the better. Looking good in front of her friends scores points for you.

The next step is for you. Since you know your girl best, look for the proper signs that the wonders of the Lemon Drop is doing its magic. Most likely, if the drink was mixed properly, the signs really won’t be too subtle. Their power is substantial.

Now go get permission for that new cordless drill! Prepare yourself for the next day though guys. She will try and deny her giving you the OK for whatever it is you may have asked for. Living in the Northwest, we have many simple pleasures we take for granted: Clean air, green landscape, and of course, coffee. Oh how we LOVE our coffee. I think that our daily caffeine high takes our mind off of the rain. Anyways, what better way to get your fix than an intense caffeine dose with booze added to it.

What is in a Espresso Martini

• 1 oz cold Espresso
• 1/2 oz Vodka
• 1/2 oz Coffee Liqueur (Kahlua)
• 1 oz White Crème de Cacao

Directions to make an Espresso Martini

1. Pour the alcoholic ingredients into a large glass or shaker tin , fill with ice
2. Shake heavily until mix is very cold with small slivers of ice
3. Add espresso, shake lightly
4. Serve in a martini glass
5. Garnish with 3 espresso beans

Optional Additions to Espresso Martini

• Use Vanilla Vodka
• Use a Chocolate Liqueur like Godiva instead of Coffee flavored Liqueur
• Serve in a chilled or frozen martini glass
• Drizzle chocolate syrup on the inside of the glass before adding the liquid

Don’t wait until you go to the Northwest to try an Espresso Martini. The weather still sucks and who cares about trees when you sip a couple of these.

Fewer drinks will allow you to combine as much alcohol together and keep the taste palatable then the Long Island Ice Tea. First served in the 70’s, The Long Island gets its name from the largest island in the continental United States, Long Island, in New York. Robert (Rosebud) Butt, a bartender at the Oak Beach Inn, is credited with its birth.

With over 15 years of experience behind a bar, I will warn you that I have never had someone order this drink without me immediately asking to see their ID. If you want everyone to know this is your first day at the rodeo, order a Long Island Ice Tea.

What is in a Long Island Ice Tea

• 1/2 oz Vodka
• 1/2 oz Gin
• 1/2 oz Rum
• 1/2 oz Tequilla
• 1/2 oz Triple Sec
• 2 oz Sweet and Sour Mix
• 1 Splash of Coke or Pepsi

Directions to make an Long Island Ice Tea

1. Pour the ingredients into a large glass or shaker tin
2. Shake lightly and server
3. Garnish with a lemon

• Depending on the part of the country you are in, the tequila is remove from the recipie
• Another variation is to replace tequila with brandy
• If you want to make these at home but do not want to buy all the ingredients you can purchase a pre-mix at your local grocery store, then you only need to purchase vodka to mix with it.

Advice of the day:
Bring at least one friend when you start mixing up Long Island’s because you’ll need a witness to the stupid things you’ll start to do after drinking just two of them.

Boys, I want to take you back. Back in time when you could drink all night, get 2 hours of sleep, and get up in the morning and go to work and actually be somewhat productive. Yes, we are talking about all night Alabama Slammers. The University of Alabama is credited with decanting this for the first time. Something so sweet, even extra strength Motrin does not touch the intense head pain in the morning. Boy those were the days!

Now we don’t want to sound negative at all here because an Alabama Slammers is one of our favorite drinks. We just want to lend a little warning to those that have never partaken in the Slam before.

What is in an Alabama Slammer

• 1/2 oz Amaretto Almond Liqueur
• 1/2 oz Southern Comfort
• 1/2 oz Sloe Gin
• 1 Splash of Orange Juice to taste
• 1 Splash of Sweet and Sour Mix to taste

Directions to make an Alabama Slammer

1. Pour the ingredients into a shaker, pitcher or large glass filled with ice
2. Shake until cold, strain and serve in a martini glass for a fancy group or server in a glass of ice for a party or hot day.

Optional Additions to Alabama Slammer

For extra kick, try adding a half ounce of vodka.

Make sure you have some chips or crackers on hand. You’ll need something salty to cut the overwhelming sugar aftermath. Hopefully, that will also slow down the onset of diabetes after a night of hitting these.

As we get closer to summer, making frozen drinks becomes more and more popular. One of my favorite pool side treats is the Strawberry Margarita. It blends the smooth earth tones of Tequila, with the sweet nectars of strawberries.

What is in a Strawberry Margarita

• Blender
• 4 Cups of Ice
• 2 Cups of Fresh Strawberries
• 1 Cup of Sugar
• 1 Can of Sprite or 7-Up
• 4 ounces of Tequila

Directions to make a Strawberry Margaritas

1. First add the ice, and can of Sprite into the blender, mix until the consistency is smooth and all the ice is blended.
2. Then add in the sugar, and fresh strawberries, blend just enough to chop up the strawberries but not enough to pulverize them.
3. Last add the tequila, this can then be blended briefly or mixed by hand
4. Add more tequila or sugar based on your personal preferences
5. Pour the mixture into your favorite Margarita glasses

Optional Additions to Strawberry Margaritas

• Sugared Rims Pour 1/4 cup of sugar onto a plate, wipe the rim of your margarita glasses with a lime and then dip the glass onto the plate of sugar.
• Garnish with a strawberry Take a left over strawberry and put a tiny slit at the bottom, place the strawberry on the rim of the glass.
• Use Rum If you do not like the taste of Tequila, you can use the same recipe, except substitute the tequila for a white rum like Bacardi. The end result is actually a Strawberry Daiquiri, but who is taking notes.

Well, if you managed to Google How to Cure a Handover, and found this site and you are reading you must not be that hung over. So, I will assume you are doing preemptive research for your next all night binger. This post may be coming a little late for some of you that rang in the new year with a little too much of your favorite alcoholic beverage. For those of you, I feel bad, but at the same time if it were not for you I would not have thought to write this article. So here are my tips to avoiding a hangover.

Before Drinking Cure for a Hangover

I know most of you do not plan on getting THAT drunk, just having a few drinks. So preparation before hand seems difficult to plan for. Well, if you can remember a few of these tips as you see the night heading towards drunkenness you still have a chance for success.

1. Water, Water, Water – You must hydrate in order to keep the fluids moving through your body
2. Carb Up – French Fries, Hamburgers, a piece of stale bread – give the booze something to cling to besides the inner wall of your stomach.
3. Take a multivitamin to replace the vitamins and minerals you will lose as a result of drinking alcohol. Taking Thiamine (Vitamin B1) has been shown to help your body process alcohol and reduce negative side effects the morning after.

While Drinking Cure for a Hangover

As you begin to really enjoy the moment, if you can have a flash back or two, this list should help fend off the impending hang over.

1. Water, Water, Water – If you can drink a glass of water for every drink you are ahead of the game.
2. Avoid Fruity Liquor – If possible stick with a clear form of Alcohol, Vodka, Rum and high end tequila.
3. Drink Top Shelf – Avoid ordering a Rum and Coke, as you will get the cheapest rum in the house. Instead order a Bacardi and Coke, or a Top Shelf Rum and Coke. Cheap booze is a quick street to a nasty hang over.
4. Try to drink the same booze all night long, if you friends are doing shots, try to find one shot you like and keep ordering it, rather than the flavor of the moment.
5. Eat – Most anything will help at this point, if you can find something healthy the vitamins will help

Post Drinking before Bed Cure for a Hangover

Now that you have finished drinking for the night, and you are going to lay your head down on the pillow, toilet, bathroom floor, etc. If you can muster the energy here are a few final tips that should keep the morning more comfortable.

1. Did I mention you should be drinking water? Drink as much as you can put down, keep a glass by the bed so if you wake up you do not have far to go to replenish.
2. Go ahead, have another glass of water
3. On the way home from the bar, have the driver stop by a convenience store. Get a Gatorade, or Power Aid, you flavor of choice, mine is orange, and power that down. This can help replace some of the fluids and electrolytes lost during the evening.

The Morning after Drinking Cure for a Hangover

Ugh…if you did not follow the steps above, you are no feeling very good right now. If you did follow the steps above you should be happy and chipper. Well maybe not, but at least you are on the way. Try following the steps below in order

1. Water – Top the morning off with as much water as you can stomach
2. As bad as it may sound, food is your friend right now. This meal is one of the hardest meals for me to eat, but I know it is the best thing I can do for myself. You will find the hang over food that works best for you, but for me it is always McDonald’s. If for some reason I am up while they are serving breakfast here is my cure, 1 Large Coke, 1 Large Orange Juice, 1 Hashbrown, 1 Sausage Biscuit with Egg and Cheese. If this day is going as it should, McDonald’s is not serving breakfast, so my lunch menu cure, 1 Large Coke, 1 Large French Fry, 1 Quarter Pounder with Cheese.
I usually have to drink the entire coke before my body will even consider eating the food, but once I get started the fry or hashbrown is an easy start, followed by the protein of the sandwich. Again, eating seems impossible, but it is a must if you want to get over this hangover without spending a day in bed.

3. Still Struggling? Hair of the Dog you bit…this does not mean go back to having tequila poppers, more have a little booze. The best choice here is a bloody mary, the vodka dulls the pain, but the tomato juice gives your body something to work on and vitamins you lose during the binger.
4. Last Resort – Pain Killers, there are many side affects to alcohol and pain killers, but as long as you have food in your stomach and are not still drunk you should be fine.
5. Alka Seltzer Morning Relief – This is a recent remedy that I have not tried myself, but I hear many people rave about it. So for the hang over that will not end this may be your last options.

Hot Toddy is a vital drink recipe for any male, you will need it to cure yourself or you better half. Hot Toddy’s help with everything from a sore throat to a fever; a hang over, or to warm chilled bones. My only issue with a hot toddy is they take a fairly large amount of ingredients, and a little while to make.

Recipe for a Whiskey Hot Toddy

Ingredients for a Hot Toddy

• Large Irish Coffee Mug
• Enough Boiling Water to fill selected mug
• 1 Tea Bag – Herbal tea, something mild in flavor
• 1 TBSP Honey
• 2 Lemon or Orange wedges
• 1.5 Ounces of Whiskey, Brandy or Rum

Directions to make a Hot Toddy

1. Boil the water
2. Pour the water into the mug and add the tea bag
3. Steep the tea for 5 minutes
4. Add the honey and whiskey, then stir
5. Squeeze in the lemon or orange.
6. Before drinking, breath in the aroma for a little while if you are congested.

How to make a Hot Toddy for a Flu

If you are sick, a hot toddy is the perfect remedy. Simply mix the Hot Toddy as shown above, then breath in the aroma for a little while. The aroma should help clean a stuffy noes, and the honey in the hot toddy should help a sore throat. After drinking the hot toddy is a great time for a nap.

Jello shots have been a party favorite for generations. A properly assembled batch of jello shots can take an ordinary party to legendary status. Regardless of the age of your party goers, everyone loves a jello shot.

Tips on How to make Jello Shots

1. Proper Booze to jello ratio. Most people the first time they make jello shots put way too much alcohol and the jello shots are either not edible, or they are liquid. Follow the directions below, and if you are going to error on one side or the other, error on too little alcohol, instead of too much.
2. Container – Use paper cups for the jello shot mold, these are easier to turn inside out to get the jello out. Little Dixie cups are a great cheap option.
3. Container – If you use plastic or glass, one tip to help everyone get the jello out is to warm the glasses for a minute before the shot, this loosens the jello from the edge.
4. Another idea is to spray the inside of the container with a very thin coating of Pam, this allows the shots to slip out easier.
5. Quantity – Make sure the jello shots are actually shots and now huge mouth fulls. The best thing to do is get a 1.5 ounce shot glass, use it as the guide for how much to put in each jello shot mold.
6. Flavors – do not use a jello that will change party goers tongues blue. If the cops show up, or if you have to speak to someone, a blue tongue is a dead giveaway. Safe flavors are cherry, strawberry, watermelon, etc. The one exception is if you are having a themed party, for example Christmas red and green jello, or 4th of July red and blue jello.
7. Jello Jigglers – This stronger type of jello allows you to generate fun shapes that can be picked up and eaten. This is a fun change is for the experienced jello shot connoisseur. Do not try this with your first batch.
